Squares and Prayers
"Squares and Prayers" is a project started by Shannon Walsh. The mission is to gather a group of people together - from far and wide - to collaborate on creative projects together to bless other people. The recipients of their gifts are those who live with a serious illness.
"Squares and Prayers" was started when a group of Christian ladies gathered together to crochet granny square afghans for people who have chronic or terminal illnesses. Their first recipient was a 3 year old boy who was born with four major heart defects. People mail their squares to one person who volunteers to put the blanket together and send it to the recipient.
This projects aims to encourage people and remind them that God is still there for them and that there are other people who also care. It is a gesture of kindness and compassion that is meant to help reignite or solidify someone's faith. If you have any questions, you can contact Shannon via
e-mail or check out the Facebook group.

Cards4Cures
"Cards4Cures" is a project started by Chelsey-Ann Lawrence. Her mission is to craft cards of hope and bring them to people at the hospital, accompanied with a treat. Having spent much time in the hospital because she lives with an illness, she knows that an encouraging card and a small treat can help cheer up a patient's day at the hospital. She decided to call this project "Cards4Cures" because while it may not be able to cure an illness, it can help cure a lonely day. If you would like to join her in this endeavour, you can contact her via e-mail.
